Spring
2016

As winter leaves and spring enters Maine, my leg is still
busted. It’s not an easy fix. And the longevity of the healing time has made it
hard to ward off depression—that is until a little pick-me-up entered my
kitchen. Make that ten tweeting little pick-me-ups.
Chicken spy cam
Six isa red pullets (the egg laying chickens) and four
Cornish rocks (our feeders) are growing up in my kitchen. I have a mission
again—besides holding the couch down.

Our brood
|
Their chirps and shenanigans (you’ll see them on the spy
cam) are filling our house and keeping me distracted. We have big missions for
these tiny creatures. They’ll fill our bellies, provide us eggs, eat the ticks
and spread the manure in the pasture. And keep me glued to the brood from the
overwhelming cuteness.
Enjoy the cuteness.
